PARADE The 120th Vermont State Firefighters’ Association Conference and the Bennington Fire Department will co-host the Bennington Battle Day Parade.  This two and a half hour parade will start promptly at 12:30 PM on Sunday August 16, 2009.  The parade will start at the old middle school on Main Street and will turn right onto Depot Street and will then turn left onto River Street and will end at the Bennington Fire Facility where hot dogs, hamburgers, sausage and peppers will be sold.    This parade will feature drum and bugle corps units, marching bands, country and western bands, cloggers, antique cars, floats, military equipment, the Shriners with their vehicles, the governor and of course fire and rescue apparatus with marching units from New York and New England.   More information about this exciting weekend will follow.
